  • Werder Bremen are unbeaten in 37 DFB-Pokal matches at home (33 wins, plus 4 penalty shootout victories) – a competition record! They last lost on home soil in the 1988 semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt (1-0).

  • Bayern have progressed in their last 29 DFB-Pokal away matches – a competition record. Their last defeat on the road came in March 2009 at Bayer Leverkusen (2-4).

  • Werder and Bayern are the two most successful teams in DFB-Pokal history. FCB have a record 18 titles (22 final appearances), while Bremen have six (10 finals). The northern club last lifted the trophy in 2009, the men from Munich in 2016. In addition no other teams have scored more than these two in the competition: Bayern München have scored 729 goals in their DFB-Pokal history, while Bremen have netted 564.
