Simon Rolfes further advances development of goal-line technology

Aachen/Eschweiler, October 12, 2017 –
Positive feedback for the goal-line technology in France: The world’s football governing body, Fifa, has carried out a so-called FIT test (Fifa installation test) in Rennes last Friday (October 6) and thereby confirmed the perfect operation of the goal-line technology system. In the presence of the Scottish Labors Sports Lab and a delegation of the French Ligue LFP (Ligue de Football Profesionnel) the system of the Aachen-based GoalControl GmbH was again tested thoroughly.

„I’m glad about the result of the FIT test, but we didn’t expect anything else. The FIFA test confirms our work and commitment. We are working continuously to further enhance the system, especially the camera technology and the speed of the data transfer,” said Simon Rolfes, who has taken over GoalControl GmbH together with his business partner Dr Markus Elsässer in summer 2017.

French football league relies on GoalControl

The GoalControl system has been used successfully in the French Ligue 1 ever since the 2015/16 season. Thanks to GoalControl, the referee can see in real-time on his watch, if the ball was over the line or not.
